In late 2021, Tia Margarita was added to San Francisco’s Legacy Business registry, solidifying its status as a neighborhood anchor. The mural-painted walls and enormous portions are reminiscent of many Mexican restaurants, but Tia’s also features historic artifacts, including Aztec masks from the 1939-1940 Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island and a neon sign dating back to 1963.
